NeighborWorks® Home Resources is a community-based non-profit organization with a mission to provide housing-related resources, education and technical services to provide safe, decent and affordable housing.
Our service area includes all of Cattaraugus County and surrounding areas. NeighborWorks® Home Resources enjoys the support of a dynamic partnership of local residents, government representatives and agencies, and the private sector.
NeighborWorks® Home Resources is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation governed by a seven (7) member Board of Directors. Volunteer Board members are area residents and represent a range of expertise and community involvement. The Board sets budget, planning, and policy objectives and monitors the programs and operations through oversight of the Executive Director.
Founded in 1982, we are the first rural group to become a chartered member of Neighborhood Reinvestment Corporation, d.b.a. NeighborWorks® America, a public non-profit organization established by an act of Congress in 1978. As part of this national network, we receive technical support, funding, training for Board and staff, plus contact with over 240 affiliated housing organizations throughout the country.
In addition, we receive funding and technical assistance as a Rural Preservation Corporation with oversight from the New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal.
